KCX Inc. began as Horizon Retail Solutions in 1984. Steve Wilson, the founder, originally was employed by Atwood Distributing, a current customer of KCX. There he initially developed the first release of what would become the xHost multi-store inventory management solution. With guidance from several retail businesses, Steve and others designed the best system possible to provide optimal inventory management to his customers.
Horizon becomes KCX Inc.
In 1997, Horizon became KCX Inc. and began offering its own Point of Sale solution. Now named xStore, the Point of Sale solution was developed with the guidance of KCX's customers to meet the specific needs of multi-store Farm and Home Discount Retailers in the US.
KCX Inc. Today
KCX Inc. currently maintains headquarters in Lee's Summit, MO (a suburb of the Kansas City metro). The staff of 10 to 20 employees is dedicated to providing the best solutions possible to their clients.
